Hi Nel,

The CDA would know about the possibility of bringing the dog. Your best bet would be to call the CDA's Vancouver office at 604-732-1331. I think the person you need to speak to is Donna Van Walleghem, or you can email her at donna.walleghem@diabetes.ca.

I'm not involved with the organization of the event, but I will be emceeing the afternoon panel and doing the closing wrap-up.

It will be terrific to meet you!

Cheers and a Smile,
Sandy

Sandy ,

And a terrific job you did ...it was awesome to meet you in person Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy Your personal story living with the challenges of diabetes made an impact , I am sure. And you look gorgeous ...
A lady sitting behind me at the panel discussion tapped me on the back ...we are going back about 20 plus years ago , when I chaired a support group at St Mary's Hospital in New Westminster , BC .For me the experience was seeing a lot of people in my life on the Coast and it was GREAT. And I talked to Sebestian Sasseville , the mountain climber , type 1 , SPECIAL .... Cool
I was so happy to sit in with Dr. Metzger from Vancouver Children's Hospital 's session ...he seems such a dedicated man . I like to share the hospital's website www.endodiab.bcchildrens.ca . A lot he spoke about is available to watch at the Whats New link .
I met a young woman in this session , who is financially strapped because of her diabetes ...will she become an advocate ??
This lady mentioned the book and highly recommended reading " Cheating Destiny " written by a person with diabetes and his son was recently diagnosed ...I went to the web and found it and will search for it at our local bookstore .
Helping a little at the Team Diabetes Trade Show table was a lot of FUN ...I met some prospective Marathoners /Fund raisers Cool Cool Cool Cool
Life is good ....Nel P.

What are the differences between type 1 diabetes and type 2 diabetes?
I know type one is deadlier. But symptom wise, what are the differences between the 2 types of diabetes?

How strongly is sugar intake linked to the onset of diabetes, among people who are not overweight? and is there a figure for daily intake of sugar, above which there is a significantly higher chance of diabetes?
